5-8 amendments

Witness- Someone who hears, sees. someone who witnesses a accident.

Indict- To charge with an offense or crime, accused of doing something wrong. He tends to indict everyone of plotting against him.

Testify- To give testimony under oath or solemn affirmation, usually in court.

Due process- The regular administration of the law, according to which no citizen may be denied his or her legal rights and all laws must conform to fundamental accepted legal principals as the right of the accused to confront his or her accusers.

Grand Jury- a jury, at common law, of 12 to 23 persons, designated to inquire into alleged violations of the law in order to ascertain whether the evidence is sufficient to warrant trial.

Capital punishment- punishment by death for a crime, Death penalty.

Bail- to give money to let a person be released from jail.

Peer- A person with the same legal status.

Excessive- going beyond the usual, necessary, or proper limit or degree; characterized by excess: excessive charges; excessive criticism.

Do you believe that people accused of crimes deserve all of these rights or just some of them? Why or why not? I think people accused of crimes deserve all the rights event though they have been accuesed of crimes. because even thought they have done crimes if they already went to jail and leared there lesson then i think its okay for them to have the same rights as everyone else.

9-10 amendments

1. List five ways states have to look after the well-being of its people.

State police, Fishing, Hunting, License's, Restaurants, vaccinations for school, Punish criminals.

2. List three powers states share with the federal government.

Concurrent powers, Powers to tax, to pass laws, and to punish

criminals.

3. Then write a sentence under each one explaining whether the following statements are a state’s responsibility or the responsibility of the federal government.

a. Issue a teaching license to someone who has applied and has met all the requirements- State

b. Make a treaty with a foreign country- federal government

c. Set health codes for restaurants- The state
d. Issue a marriage license-The state
e. Declare war-federal government

2nd-4th amendments

1. Describe one argument for and one argument against gun control. What is your opinion on the issue? I think that having guns is not bad unless your using it in a bad way. I agree with cops having guns because they work with criminals but if someone is using it for no reason and just going around shooting people then that is wrong.

2. Do you think it is fair to force people to open their homes to soldiers during wartime? Why or why not? I think its wrong for the government to force people to take care of soldiers in there house because the family has the right to say no to them because its there house and they get a say in wether they want that soldier or not.

3. Describe a situation in which the police might be able to obtain a warrant to search a house or a building. I think the only reason for the police to come in someones house and search is if there doing something illegal or if there a criminal. I think its stupid if the cop comes up to someone and say that they have to search there house because they look funny or have a weird hair cut.

First Amendment

Give a speech before a large gathering of people and express opinions about the president's abilities.
The freedom of speech protects this situation

Post your opinion on your blog about an issue being discussed at a local school board meeting.

Circulate a petition calling for the repeal of an unpopular law.
Bringing back the law that may be important and people forgot about it.

Write a letter for the editorial page of a newspaper in which you criticize a state legislator.
